Celso García García is a Full Professor in Physical Geography at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), where he has worked since October 1998. He leads the research group GLOWATER (Water Resources and Global Change) established in 2017.
- PhD in Geography (Physical) from the University of Barcelona (1997)
- Expertise in fluvial geomorphology, Mediterranean temporary streams, water resources management, and historical aerial photography applications
Research Focus: Integrates terrestrial hydrological cycles with processes affecting Mediterranean regions. Current projects include:
- LocAll4Flood (2024-26): Flash flood resilience in Mediterranean areas
- NATALIE (2023-28): Nature-based climate adaptation solutions
- UNDAMMED (2022-24): Dam removal impacts on river networks
His work spans geomorphology, hydrology, and environmental policy, with recent publications analyzing hydropeaking effects, water pricing, and climate change resilience using historical aerial imagery. He teaches Geomorphology, Hydrography, and Water Resources Management at UIB's Geography degree program.
