Celina Jones

Dr. Celina Jones is a Reader in Fashion and Textile Technologies at Manchester Fashion Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University, specializing in sustainable textile innovation. Her research focuses on mitigating environmental impacts of textile production through biomimicry and advanced material technologies.

Research interests include fiber fragment pollution mechanisms, sustainable textile design, and cellular agriculture for leather alternatives. Her work combines experimental analysis of fabric structures with environmental impact assessments.

Dr. Jones holds multiple fellowships including Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She leads UKRI-funded projects on textile sustainability and contributes to international standards for microfiber pollution testing.

Her laboratory focuses on textile lifecycle analysis and collaborates with industry partners to develop pollution-reduction technologies for manufacturing processes.
