Ceire Broderick is a Senior Lecturer in Latin American Studies at University College Cork (UCC), where she has been employed since 2018. Previously, she held a Lecturer position in Hispanic Studies at Cardiff University (2016-2018). Her research focuses on gendered and decolonial approaches to Latin American cultural studies, particularly examining feminist activism in Chilean historical fiction and cross-cultural comparisons between Ireland and Latin America.

She co-convenes the Violence, Conflict and Gender research cluster and contributes to the Critical Epistemologies Across Borders (CEAB) project. Her $197,015 HEA-funded CEAB initiative (2022-2025) examines cross-border knowledge production. She supervises PhD candidates on topics spanning Mexican speculative fiction, escrevivência in Brazil, and crime fiction translation from gender perspectives.
