Cecilie Andersen

Cecilie Andersen serves as a PhD Research Fellow at the University of Agder's School of Business and Law, affiliated with the Department of Management and Innovation. She maintains dual professional roles as both an academic researcher and industry professional in the energy sector.

Her academic background includes an MSc in Tourism Management and Planning from Bournemouth University (England) and a Bachelor in International Marketing from Telemark University College (Norway), complemented by additional studies in tourism and economics.

Dr. Andersen's research focuses on the intersection of branding, marketing, and tourism with particular emphasis on consumer behavior in vacation planning and post-experience word-of-mouth. Her work explores how digital channels and social media influence modern tourism marketing strategies.

Her recent publications (2019-2025) consistently examine the relationship between holiday planning processes and consumer communication behavior, demonstrating methodological rigor through cross-cultural comparisons across multiple countries. The research shows increasing sophistication in examining pre-vacation factors that influence post-vacation satisfaction and brand loyalty.

As an educator, she teaches International e-Marketing (MF 300) at the University of Agder, bringing practical industry insights to her classroom instruction.

Professionally, she serves as Brand Manager at SkandiaEnergi while maintaining her research position at Norce (formerly Agder Research), where she works as a Researcher and Project Manager. Her previous role as Brand Manager at NorgesEnergi (2003-2016) provided extensive industry experience that informs her academic work.
