Cecilia Rydinger is a Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Department of Composition, Conducting & Music Theory at the University of the Arts Stockholm – KMH. She holds dual roles in academia and professional music, serving as program manager for choir and orchestra conducting courses and chair of KMH's teacher nomination board. Her career includes leadership as KMH's principal (2012–2019) and extensive experience in teaching and conducting.
Education: Studied church music, choir, and orchestral conducting at KMH in the 1980s. Taught orchestral conducting at KMH from 1998 to 2012.
Research focuses on choral conducting leadership and the legacy of Eric Ericson, exploring pedagogical methodologies and their impact on choral art. A current project (2022–2024), funded by the Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Memorial Foundation, examines Ericson’s artistic pedagogy, culminating in a 2025 book and article.
Professional roles include artistic director of Orphei Drängar (male choir, 2008–present), freelance conducting, and collaboration with professional and amateur music groups, particularly youth orchestras.
