Dr. Cecilia Marquez is the Hunt Family Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Duke University's Arts & Sciences school. She specializes in the history of Latino communities in the US South, examining identity formation, social movements, and regional racial dynamics. Her acclaimed book Making the Latino South reframes Southern history through Latino experiences from Jim Crow to the 21st century.
