Catherine Steele

Catherine (Kate) Steele is an Adjunct Professor at National Louis University (NLU), where she has taught in the Healthcare Leadership and Master of Health Administration (MHA) programs for the past 11 years. She holds a Master of Science in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University and a Master of Health Services Administration from NLU, alongside RN licensure in Illinois and Michigan. With over 30 years in healthcare, Steele specializes in healthcare operations and information technology, focusing on leveraging technology and analytics to improve patient care and strategic decision-making.

Her professional experience includes a 15-year career in healthcare IT leadership, currently serving as a senior administrator overseeing electronic health record (EHR) systems for four hospitals and 75 outpatient departments in a large metropolitan healthcare system. She advises executive leaders on technology-driven operational standardization and patient outcome improvements through data analytics.

In 2008, Steele founded a company offering a 13-month educational program in health information technology adoption, awarding Medical Informatics certificates. Her research emphasizes integrating real-time clinical data and analytics into patient care and organizational strategy to transform healthcare delivery.
