Catherine O’Brien is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy. She holds a Pharm.D. from UAMS and an M.A. in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola University Chicago. Her clinical practice focused on pediatric and adult cystic fibrosis care at the Arkansas Cystic Fibrosis Center from 2007 to 2021.
Her research explores patient-centered communication, motivational interviewing, and ethical decision-making skill development in pharmacy education. She coordinates and lectures courses including Introduction to Patient-Centered Communication and Pharmacy Law & Ethics.
