Catherine Minns Lowe

Roles & Affiliations: Dr. Catherine Minns Lowe is an Associate Professor in Research at the University of Hertfordshire's Department of Allied Health Professions, Midwifery and Social Work. She leads the Musculoskeletal Research Unit and is the Physiotherapy Research Lead. She is affiliated with the School of Health and Social Work and the Centre for Applied Clinical, Health and Care Research (CACHE).

Research Interests: Catherine focuses on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, systematic reviews, randomized clinical trials, and qualitative studies addressing patient care pathways. She advocates for evidence-based practice and improving physical activity promotion for patients with chronic conditions. Additional interests include workforce well-being in physiotherapy and professional development initiatives.

Grants & Funding: Over £2.5M in research grants secured as lead/co-investigator. Recent projects include studies on workplace well-being, hypermobility in pregnancy, and physiotherapy practice knowledge.

Professional Activities: Catherine peer reviews for major medical journals and grant bodies (NIHR, Scottish Health & Safety Executive). She previously chaired the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's Scientific Panel and serves on ethics committees and trial steering committees.

Labs & Teams: Core member of the Musculoskeletal Research Unit and collaborates across multidisciplinary teams in clinical research.
