Catherine Miller is an Assistant Professor of Biology at the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Southern Maine (USM), part of the College of Science, Technology, and Health. She joined USM in 2019 after serving as an Assistant Professor at Western Illinois University and postdoctoral research roles at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on mosquito and tick vectors of human pathogens, including their distribution in Maine and viral infection mechanisms in human immune cells.

Teaching: Courses in immunology (BIO 431, 432) and microbiology (BIO 281, 282, 311).
Research Interests:
- Vector biology of mosquitoes and ticks
- Disease carriage in ticks across rural/urban Maine
- Mechanisms of viral infection (Dengue/Yellow Fever Virus)
Labs/Teams: Engaged in entomological and virological research within USM’s Biological Sciences department.
