Catherine Meredith is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance at Kent State University's College of the Arts, teaching modern dance technique and dance composition. She holds an M.F.A. in Dance and Dance Education from American Dance Festival/Hollins University. With over 30 years as a professional dancer, she has performed internationally with companies like Cortez & Co. Contemporary/Ballet and Verb Ballets, and held principal roles in works by Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey.
Her research focuses on dance education accessibility, including adapting Horton technique for wheelchair users and developing disability-inclusive dance curricula. As Rehearsal Director for Dancing Wheels Company, she pioneered physically integrated dance. Her choreography has been commissioned by institutions worldwide and presented at venues including The Kennedy Center and American Dance Festival.
