Catherine Marrone

Catherine Marrone is an Advanced Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Sociology at Stony Brook University. Her work bridges Medical Sociology with interdisciplinary research on gender, aging, and human reproduction.

Research Interests: Her scholarship examines social inequality in health outcomes, the Sociology of Aging, and the cultural impact of reproductive technologies. She has authored a course text on human reproduction (University Readers, 2010) and currently explores academic dishonesty in higher education and the evolving role of doulas in childbirth, collaborating with graduate student Misty Curreli.
