Catherine Jones

Catherine Jones is Assistant Professor in Digital Human Geographies at the University of Luxembourg's Department of Geography and Spatial Planning. Her research develops innovative geospatial methods to study technology adoption patterns, urban transformations, and cultural heritage engagement.

She designs location-based mobile applications with augmented reality to capture public perceptions of energy transitions. Recent projects map solar PV diffusion in Luxembourg and co-design carbon descent games to support sustainability education.

Jones employs participatory approaches including co-design workshops for cultural heritage applications and board game prototyping for location-based experiences. Her work advances geovisualization techniques for analyzing collective memory in social media data.
