Catherine Cornille holds the Newton College Alumnae Chair of Western Culture in the Theology Department at Boston College, where she also directs the Interreligious Studies Minor program. Her research examines theological approaches to interreligious dialogue, with particular focus on Hindu-Christian and Buddhist-Christian comparative theology. Dr. Cornille earned degrees from K.U. Leuven (AB, PhD) and the University of Hawaii (MA).
Her scholarly work addresses methodological challenges in comparative theology, including issues of choice in comparative frameworks and soteriological agnosticism. Current research explores discipleship models across religious traditions and the theological foundations for constructive interfaith engagement.
Dr. Cornille teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in comparative theology, religion, and theological methodology. She maintains professional affiliations with international theological associations and serves on editorial boards for major journals in theology and religious studies.
