Catherine A. Fiorello

Dr. Catherine A. Fiorello serves as a Professor in the School Psychology program within the Department of Psychological Studies in Education at Temple University's College of Education and Human Development. A licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania with Board Certification in School Psychology, she maintains her office in Ritter Hall 496.

Her doctoral training in school psychology was followed by a clinical postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Kentucky specializing in AD/HD assessment and intervention. Research focuses on cognitive and neuropsychological assessment with rigorous attention to fairness for culturally/linguistically diverse students and those experiencing poverty, extending into learning/behavior disorders, health-related conditions, low-incidence disabilities, intellectual giftedness, and school neuropsychology.

Recent scholarly contributions include the 2024 publication on cognitive assessment report writing, demonstrating her commitment to advancing evidence-based practices in psychological assessment within educational systems. Her work consistently bridges clinical methodology with equitable application across diverse student populations.

Dr. Fiorello actively mentors graduate students through courses including Biological Aspects of Behavior, History and Systems of Psychology, and multiple practicum sequences. Her national leadership spans presidency of Division 16 (School Psychology) of the APA, treasurer roles in the Trainers of School Psychologists, and service as an ABPP examiner and APA accreditation site visitor.
