Cassilda Pereira is an Invited Assistant Professor at the School of Health, Polytechnic University of Porto (ESS|P.PORTO), and an Integrated Researcher at TBIO (Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research), part of the Health Research Network (RISE-Health). She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Biochemistry specialization) from the University of Coimbra (2016). Her research focuses on cellular metabolism modulation by bioactive compounds, toxin biology, and cardiac regeneration mechanisms. She has contributed to over 10 competitive research projects (FCT grants) and published 11 peer-reviewed articles.

Her work includes studying nitrite-derived nitric oxide in gastric physiology, wine polyphenols' anti-inflammatory effects, and virulence factors of Photobacterium damselae. Recently, she investigates cardiac fibroblast-mediated regeneration and metabolism-related disorders. She actively participates in science outreach via events like 'Ciência Viva' and 'ESS | P.Porto Sexta aberta'.
