Cassandra Harris-Starks

Cassandra Harris-Starks is an Instructor in the Legal Research and Writing program at Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, FL, where she has been teaching since 2018 in various capacities, including Adjunct, Visiting Instructor, and currently as full Instructor since 2023. She teaches Legal Research and Writing I and II, contributing to foundational legal education.

Her research and teaching interests focus on legal writing pedagogy, curriculum development, and access to justice through effective legal communication. She has presented at multiple Legal Writing Institute (LWI) workshops on innovative teaching methods, including first-generation student support and timed assessments in legal writing courses. Her work reflects a commitment to enhancing legal education and student preparedness.

She is actively involved in community service as an elected Supervisor on the Celebration Community Development District Board and as a Trustee of the Celebration Foundation. Professionally, she previously founded the Law Office of Cassandra Harris-Starks, P.A., specializing in estate planning and immigration law, and held roles as an Import Trade Analyst with the International Trade Administration and a Systems Engineer with Electronic Data Systems.

She is a member of both the Florida and Michigan bar associations and maintains an active professional presence through teaching, community leadership, and legal scholarship engagement.
