Casper Falster

Casper Falster is a Medical Doctor and PhD, currently serving as a Guest Researcher at the Department of Clinical Research, affiliated with Karolinska Institute (KI), Odense University Hospital (OUH), and the Odense Respiratory Research Unit (ODIN). His work focuses on ultrasonography, particularly in diagnosing pulmonary embolism, with expertise in clinical trials, diagnostic accuracy, and meta-analysis.

As a faculty member at the European Respiratory Society's thoracic ultrasonography courses, Falster actively contributes to medical education. He engages in research communication through TV 2 Fyn, Videnskab.dk, and hosting the OUH Talks podcast.

Research Themes: His studies span pulmonary embolism, lung ultrasound, echocardiography, and thrombosis. Recent work includes randomized controlled trials (e.g., PRIME study), systematic reviews on multiorgan ultrasound, and diagnostic accuracy assessments using shear wave elastography.
