Casey Hilder

Prof. Casey Hilder is an Assistant Professor of Journalism at the University of Memphis, affiliated with the College of Communication and Fine Arts and the Department of Journalism and Strategic Media. He serves as the CCFA Media Coordinator and teaches courses in writing, reporting, editing, web publishing, and print design. Hilder holds a B.A. (2009) and M.A. (2012) in Journalism from the University of Memphis.

Research and Teaching Focus: Hilder’s work emphasizes practical journalism skills, digital media strategies, and educational methodologies in journalism pedagogy. His role as Editor-in-Chief of Click magazine and former Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Helmsman underscores his expertise in media production and leadership.

Advising and Administrative Roles: Prior to his current role, Hilder served as an adjunct instructor, teaching foundational journalism courses. As CCFA Media Coordinator since 2019, he manages communication initiatives for the college.

Labs/Teams: Engaged with the Department of Journalism and Strategic Media’s academic and outreach programs, contributing to the college’s media strategies and educational mission.
