Carrie Allen is an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of North Texas's College of Education. Her research addresses educational inequities in STEM through organizational and instructional reforms. She examines how improvement efforts translate into classroom practices and impact student learning across formal and informal educational settings.
Dr. Allen investigates teacher sensemaking during reform implementation, organizational barriers to equitable STEM education, and youth identity development in project-based learning environments. Her scholarly work appears in leading journals including the Journal of Learning Sciences, Journal of Teacher Education, and American Educational Research Journal. Before joining academia, she taught high school English and community college courses in Washington state.
