Carolyn Dreyer

Carolyn Dreyer is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Social Transformation within Eastern University's College of Health and Sciences. She teaches in the MA in Theological and Cultural Anthropology (MATCA) program.

• Education: B.A. in Anthropology and Missiology (Eastern University); Ph.D. in Social Anthropology (University of Cambridge)

Research Interests focus on Christianity, secularism, theology’s intersection with anthropology, and epistemology. Her ethnographic work explored spiritual formation among British Anglo-Catholics and theology’s challenges to secular knowledge frameworks.

• Awards: Society for the Anthropology of Religion’s Student Paper Prize (2021)

She co-authored the book Millennials and the Mission of God: A Prophetic Dialogue (2017) with Emeritus Professor Andrew Bush. Her academic trajectory bridges missiology, cultural anthropology, and religious studies.
