Caroline Reitz is an Associate Professor in the English Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the CUNY Graduate Center. She is also Co-Director of the John Jay - Vera Fellows Program in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her research focuses on crime fiction, 19th-century British literature, empire literature, feminist theory, and novel theory.
Education:
- PhD in English, Brown University, 1999
- MA in English, Brown University, 1992
Her work appears in journals such as Novel, Genre, and Victorian Literature and Culture, and she is the author of Detecting the Nation (2004). She is currently editing Arthur Conan Doyle's The Sign of the Four for Oxford World's Classics and working on a book about angry women in crime fiction for Cambridge University Press.
