Caroline Rabourdin is Senior Lecturer in Architecture Histories and Theories at the University of Greenwich's School of Design, teaching across BA and M.Arch programs. She is Honorary Lecturer at UCL Bartlett, supervising PhD candidates in Architectural Design. Trained at INSA Strasbourg, University of Edinburgh, and Bartlett School of Architecture (M.Arch with Distinction).
Her research explores intersections of translation, language and spatial design through phenomenological frameworks. Key interests include bilingual embodiment, architectural writing, and interdisciplinary translation practices.
Key Publications: Sense in Translation: Essays on the Bilingual Body (Routledge, 2020) examines linguistic/spatial translation as embodied phenomena.
Awards:
- Arts Council England DYCP Award for 'Translation as Re-Writing' (2019)
Founded the AA Visiting School 'Architecture & Ecriture' in Paris (2016) and directs research on convivial spaces through the Institute for Inclusive Communities and Environments.
