Dr. Caroline Lohmann-Hancock is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), where she serves as Institute Manager of Research Degrees for the Institute of Education and Humanities. She holds an EdD and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Her roles include supervising PhD students, delivering training for doctoral supervisors, and managing research degree programs. She leads the MA Equity and Diversity in Society and MA Harmony and Sustainability: Theory and Practice programs.
Her research focuses on sociology, education, and exclusion, emphasizing poverty, identity, and media representation. Key interests include late diagnosis of learning differences in higher education, sustainability, and inclusive education. Her SFHEA status reflects her leadership in education innovation and mentorship for staff development.
As a HEA Mentor and external examiner for multiple universities, she promotes teaching excellence. She chairs UWTSD’s Faculty Ethics Committee and participates in committees for widening access, research degrees, and international education collaborations. Her work bridges academic research, policy, and community engagement to foster equity in education systems globally.
