Caroline Fermin is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Dance department at Barnard College and Marymount Manhattan College, where she teaches Modern Dance and Improvisation. She holds a BFA from The Juilliard School and an MFA from Wilson College.
Her research interests focus on integrating community engagement, somatics, and the concepts of instinct and play into dance choreography. Fermin has collaborated with institutions such as Target Margin Theater, Lake Lucille Chekhov Project, and The Orchestra of Saint Luke’s, choreographing works seen at venues including Juilliard’s Wilson Theater, The Cell, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in the Dominican Republic.
Prior to her current roles, Fermin was a founding member of Gallim Dance, serving as Education Chair and Rehearsal Director. She has performed with companies like the James Sewell Ballet and Chamber Dance Ensemble, and has freelanced with renowned artists such as Jeanette Stoner and Sidra Bell.
