About
Caroline Cellard, Ph.D., is Full Professor at the School of Psychology, Université Laval (Québec, Canada), and holds concurrent senior scientist appointments at the Centre de recherche universitaire sur les jeunes et les familles (CRUJeF), the CERVO Brain Research Centre, and the Centre d’études et d’interventions en santé mentale (CÉISM).
Education & Academic Journey
- Doctoral training at Université Laval, culminating in the 2011 Prix d’excellence for best doctoral dissertation, Faculty of Social Sciences.
- Post-doctoral Research Fellow (2010-2013), Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, UK.
Research Interests
Professor Cellard’s program lies at the intersection of clinical neuroscience and cognitive remediation. She investigates neurodevelopmental and psychosocial mechanisms underlying severe mental disorders—especially schizophrenia spectrum conditions—among adolescents and young adults. By integrating experiential, clinical, and scientific knowledge, she designs and evaluates cognitive remediation protocols that foster functional recovery and mental-health service partnerships.
Publication Landscape
Her 2021-2025 publications reveal a triad of foci: (1) psychometric refinement of social-cognition instruments, (2) meta-analytic evidence for cognitive remediation efficacy in youth, and (3) digital-health interventions (mobile apps, e-mental-health) for first-episode psychosis. Together, these works advance precision assessment and scalable therapeutic technologies.

The group unites researchers from CERVO to implement and evaluate recovery-oriented practices.
Laboratory & Collaborations
