Prof. Carolina Castaldi is a Professor of Economic Geography at Utrecht University's Faculty of Geosciences, where she holds the Chair in Geography of Innovation. She co-leads the Economic Geography section and specializes in innovation processes, intellectual property rights, and sustainable regional development. Her work bridges economics, management, and geography, with a focus on novel indicators like patent and trademark data.
Research & Teaching: Her research examines innovation's temporal and spatial dynamics, including both technological and non-technological forms. She teaches at Bachelor, Master, and PhD levels and chairs the Geosciences University Teaching Qualification commission.
