Dr. Carole Ammann is a Research Fellow at the University of Lucerne’s Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. Her current research, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) through an Ambizione grant, examines rainbow families and GBTIQ+ parenthood within heteronormative societal structures. She holds a PhD from the University of Basel’s Institute of Social Anthropology, where her doctoral work focused on women’s agency in Guinea (2011–2013), culminating in her book *Women, Agency, and the State in Guinea.
