Carol Thompson

Carol Thompson, Ph.D., is a Professor and Department Chair in the Sociology & Anthropology Department at Texas Christian University's AddRan College of Liberal Arts. Her research focuses on Human-Animal Studies, Cultural Studies, Conflict and Social Control, and the Sociology of Law. She holds a B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. in Sociology from Louisiana State University.

Dr. Thompson teaches courses including Sociological Theory, Law & Society, and Perspectives on Human-Animal Relationships. Her work explores intersections between human-animal interactions, legal frameworks, and cultural narratives. Notable research includes studies on feral cat caretaker mental health and moral discourse in animal rescue contexts.
