Carol H Schmidt, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Joining the faculty in 2001 after private practice experience, she specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology with clinical focus areas including glaucoma detection, diabetic retinopathy screening, macular degeneration, ocular complications of systemic medications, lid margin disease, dry eye, and cataract surgery. She contributes to surgical education as Co-Director of the annual Northwestern Chicagoland Phacoemulsification and Microsurgical Resident Training Course since 2012 and served as a department representative to the NU Faculty Senate since 2018.
