Carol Gee

Carol Gee is a Professor of Mathematics and Department Chair at St. Edward's University. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Rice University (2004) and a B.S. in Mathematics with a Computer Science concentration from the University of Dallas (1999). Her research focuses on low-dimensional topology, knot theory, and pedagogical innovations such as inquiry-based learning and specifications-based grading.

Academic leadership roles include serving as Department Chair since 2011 and previously as a VIGRE Visiting Research Assistant Professor at UC Davis (2004-2006). She has secured over $730K in grants, including an NSF S-STEM grant (2014-2019) and co-led the 'weGOAT' initiative under NSF INCLUDES WATCH-US (2017-2018).

Her teaching innovations include developing the 'Inquiry & Proof' course with a $15K Educational Advancement Foundation grant. Awards include the Innovation Fellowship (2014), MAA Project NExT Fellowship (2006), and Goldwater Fellowship (1998).
