Carmody Grey

Dr Carmody Grey serves as Assistant Professor of Catholic Theology at Durham University and holds an advisory position with the Las Casas Institute, focusing on theological engagement with contemporary societal issues.

Her academic foundation includes theology degrees from Trinity College Oxford, King's College Cambridge, and the University of Nottingham, supplemented by specialized postgraduate training in ecology and life sciences from the University of Edinburgh. This unique interdisciplinary background bridges theological scholarship with environmental science.

Research centers on philosophical theology and theological ethics, particularly examining intersections between scientific understanding, natural systems, and ecological responsibility. Her work critically explores how theological frameworks can address environmental crises while navigating tensions between empirical science and religious epistemology.
