Carmen Riggan

Carmen Riggan serves as Assistant Dean for the College of Liberal Arts Student Services and Staff Instructor at the University of Mississippi. Originally from California, she now resides in Oxford, MS, and holds advanced degrees in Higher Education from Ole Miss while pursuing her Doctorate of Education.

Her educational background includes:

• B.A. Psychology, The University of Mississippi (2006)
• M.A. Higher Education and Student Affairs, The University of Mississippi (2018)

Her professional focus centers on student-centered administration within higher education, specializing in academic policy implementation, student advocacy systems, and institutional frameworks for student success. She employs evidence-based approaches to academic advising, orientation programming, and resolution of student petitions and disciplinary cases.

Carmen received the Frist Student Service Award in 2020 for exceptional contributions to student support services.

She actively shapes university policy through committee leadership including the Academic Policy Review Committee and Completion and Student Success Committee, where she represents student services perspectives in strategic decision-making.
