Carlos Puig

Carlos Puig is a Researcher at the Instituto de Estudios sobre Desarrollo y Cooperación Internacional (Hegoa) at the University of the Basque Country. His work focuses on development cooperation, project management, and sustainable local development. With a background in Business Administration (Licenciado, 1983) and postgraduate studies in development (UPV/EHU, 1992-94), he has extensive field experience in Central America (1987-1990), working with refugee communities during wartime. Since 1993, he has led projects in Africa, Latin America, and the Sahrawi refugee camps, specializing in economic solidarity initiatives, women's empowerment, and peacebuilding through territorial development. Key projects include strengthening socio-economic models in Colombia's Cauca region and fostering transnational solidarity networks.
