Carlo Pagano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Leiden University, where he was supervised by Hendrik Lenstra, and completed postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (Bonn) and the University of Glasgow.
Research Focus: Dr. Pagano specializes in Number Theory, particularly arithmetic statistics, arithmetic dynamics, rational points on varieties, and sphere packing problems. His collaborative work with Peter Koymans on Stevenhagen's conjecture (negative Pell equation) has been featured in Quanta Magazine.
Teaching Activities (2022/2023): He taught an introductory Linear Algebra course (Math 204) in the fall semester and offered courses on the inverse Galois problem and multi-variable calculus in the winter semester.
