Carl Evans

Carl Evans is a Lecturer in Operations, Logistics, and Strategic Management at the Plymouth Business School (University of Plymouth). With over 20 years of teaching experience in higher and further education, he specializes in integrating practical insights into teaching to enhance students' employability. He currently leads the MSc Business Management program and teaches modules such as Business Consultancy, Project Management, and Strategy and Business Improvement.

His research and teaching focus on strategic performance measures, balanced scorecard methodologies, inventory management, lean principles, and Total Quality Management (TQM). He emphasizes real-world case studies to contextualize operations and strategic management practices.

Carl has received significant recognition for his teaching excellence, including a Teaching Fellowship (2009), IFA Annual Award for Learning and Teaching (2009), and multiple Vice Chancellor’s Learning & Teaching Awards (2014, 2015). In 2020, he was also nominated for the Students’ Teaching Awards.

As a Programme Leader, he contributes to curriculum development and student engagement, aligning academic content with industry practices. His work supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in fostering responsible consumption and production through operational efficiency.
