Carina Peters is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with the MIN Faculty and the Department of Biology. She works within the Plankton Ecology and Evolution research group at the Institute of Marine Ecosystem and Fisheries Sciences (IMF).
Her PhD project focuses on:
- Virus-host dynamics of Ostreococcus sp. in marine environments
- Impact of ocean warming on these interactions
- Effects of viral infection on carbon acquisition pathways
Carina investigates temperature-dependent changes in virus-host systems from the southern Baltic Sea, combining ecological and physiological approaches to measure photosynthesis and respiration rates during infection cycles.
