Carem Corvaia

Carem Corvaia is an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at the Benjamin L. Crump College of Law, St. Thomas University. She is also the founding attorney of Corvaia Law, P.A., with over 10 years of expertise in immigration law, policy advocacy, and mentorship. Her work focuses on serving immigrant communities and international companies, with a strategic and culturally competent approach.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (2011), St. Thomas University School of Law (Dean’s List, Editor-in-Chief of Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, Vice President of International Moot Court)
• B.A. in International Relations (2005), Florida International University (magna cum laude, multiple honor societies including Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key)

Research & Practice Focus: Immigration law, policy reform advocacy, legal writing pedagogy, and international human rights. She frequently engages in policy advocacy, community education, and mentorship of junior attorneys.

Professional Contributions: Served as Chair of AILA South Florida’s Practice Management Committee (2021–2023), driver’s license policy advocate, and podcast host on immigration law. Fluent in Spanish with basic French proficiency.

Advising & Mentorship: Mentored junior attorneys at Corvaia Law and previously at Corvaia & Reyes, P.A. (2011–2014). Active in legal aid programs as a Guardian Ad Litem (2011–2017).
