Cara Gomez

Cara Gomez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public & Allied Health Science at Delaware State University. Her academic journey includes a Doctor of Education (EdD) from Wilmington University, a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science/Athletic Training from Florida International University, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Delaware.

Her research focuses on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Leadership in Athletic Training and Healthcare, and Clinical Innovations in Athletic Training. Key work includes studies on positive reward systems in anatomy courses, virtual training strategies, and interdisciplinary multicultural learning approaches for kinesiology students.

She is actively engaged in professional organizations, serving as President of the Delaware Athletic Trainers’ Association (2014–2016) and holding leadership roles in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Sports Medicine Committee. Her certifications include ATC, CSCS, and EIM.
