Canek Fuentes-Hernandez is Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University, leading the electronic Surfaces and Organic Interfaces Laboratory (eSOIL). His research pioneers flexible optoelectronics using earth-abundant materials.
Research develops skin-like photodetectors, self-powered sensing surfaces, and recyclable solar cells. Innovations include elastomeric organic photodiodes with mechanical compliance matching human skin and computational photodetectors for activity recognition.
