Candace Griffith

Candace Griffith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Augusta University's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2013). Her teaching focuses on criminal justice, social science methods, cyber crime, and race-related issues in justice systems.

Research interests include criminology, racial inequality, and social justice, reflected in works like her 2022 article on racist nativism. She actively participates in departmental and university governance, serving on committees such as the Criminal Justice Search Committee (2021–Present), Augusta University Faculty Senate (2021–Present), and the Student Affairs Committee as Chair (2018–Present).

Her service extends to professional reviewing roles for journals like the Journal of Cybersecurity Intelligence and Cybercrime, and volunteer work with organizations like The Salvation Army of Augusta.
