Dr. Canan Acar is an Associate Professor at the University of Twente's Faculty of Engineering Technology, specializing in integrated hydrogen energy systems within the Department of Thermal and Fluid Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Tech University and an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on renewable-based hydrogen systems for urban environments, emphasizing exergy analysis and circular energy solutions. She leads the Sustainable Energy Transition and Hydrogen research theme, collaborating internationally on projects like IS2H4C and MEDSEAPLAN.
