Campbell R. Harvey is the J. Paul Sticht Professor of Finance at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His career spans academia, research, and industry, with notable contributions to asset pricing, emerging markets, behavioral finance, and decentralized finance (DeFi). He earned his PhD in Business Finance from the University of Chicago, with notable advisors including Eugene Fama (Nobel Laureate).
Harvey has held faculty roles at Stockholm School of Economics, Helsinki School of Economics, and the University of Chicago Booth School. He served as Editor of the Journal of Finance (2006–2012), President of the American Finance Association (2016), and is a Fellow of the American Finance Association. His research has been recognized with awards, including multiple Journal of Portfolio Management Best Paper Awards and Graham & Dodd Scrolls.
His research interests focus on financial econometrics, emerging markets, and DeFi, with over 150 scholarly articles. He co-founded the Duke-CFO Survey, a quarterly global survey of over 1,500 CFOs.
