Camille M. Wilson

Camille M. Wilson is a University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor and holds a joint role in the Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Policy at the University of Michigan’s Marsal Family School of Education. She focuses on equity-driven educational leadership, school-family-community engagement, and critical perspectives on race and gender. Her work emphasizes the advocacy and resistance strategies of marginalized families and communities of color.

Education:

Research interests include transformative leadership frameworks, the role of African American mothers in educational equity, and systemic inequities in urban schooling. She employs critical race methodologies and collaborates with youth and community activists to address educational disparities. Current projects examine community responses to school closures and revitalization efforts in Detroit.
