About
Camille Guenebeaud is a Lecturer in Geography at the University of Paris 8, where she teaches Introduction to Geography, Social Geography, Urban Geography, and Epistemology courses at undergraduate levels.
Her research spans social and urban geography with concentrated focus on border dynamics, migration governance, and socio-spatial inequalities. Key themes include public action at border cities, gender relations in nocturnal urban spaces, conservative political mobilizations, and social relations of domination. Geographically, her work centers on Calais, the Franco-British border, and Franco-Italian border regions, examining how bordering practices intersect with urban policies to shape migrant experiences and social stratification.
She actively contributes to major research initiatives including ANR DisPow (2019-2022) on discretionary power at borders, ANR BABELS (2017-2019) exploring cities as borders, and the CANDELA project (2013-2018) analyzing night-time urban governance. As a fellow at the Convergences Migrations Institute and member of Migreurop's Cartography group, she co-organizes academic events on border governance, police-migrant interactions, and gendered spatial practices.
