Camilla Schofield is a Lecturer in Politics and Contemporary History at King's College London's Department of Political Economy. She holds a PhD in History from Yale University and has held prior academic roles at Balliol College, Oxford, the University of Warwick, and the University of East Anglia. Her research focuses on British decolonization, migration, race relations, and economic discrimination. She is particularly known for her work on white nationalism and its transnational dimensions, including co-authoring Global White Nationalism: From Apartheid to Trump (2020). Schofield teaches modules on British political history and democratic theory, integrating historical methods with political economy frameworks.
Her expertise includes advising on BBC Radio 4 documentaries (Britain's Fascist Thread and Britain's Communist Thread), developing educational resources on the UK Black Power Movement with The National Archives, and collaborating with youth theatre groups to engage young people with marginalized histories. She is affiliated with King's Contemporary British History and the History and Political Economy Research Group at King's.
Her recent scholarship examines the intersection of race, economics, and political identity in post-1960s Britain. She co-leads the 'Britain at Home and Abroad' seminar series at the Institute of Historical Research, emphasizing transnational historical perspectives.
