Camila Bassi is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at Sheffield Hallam University, affiliated with the College of Social Sciences and Arts and the Department of Geography. She has been at the university since 2003 and has received multiple teaching awards, including the University Inspirational Teaching Award (2015) and Students’ Union Academic Staff of the Year (2016). Her research focuses on intersections of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and Marxist geographies, with a particular emphasis on critiquing contemporary anti-Semitism and reinvigorating Marxist theory.

Her 2023 book Outcast challenges prevailing narratives linking Zionism and anti-Semitism, arguing for a universalist approach to human liberation.
