Camil Demetrescu is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the same institution (2001). He has been a visiting scientist at AT&T Research Laboratories (Networks Group) and the IT University of Copenhagen (Theory Group), and a consultant at Microsoft Research - Silicon Valley. His research focuses on computer security, algorithmics, software engineering, and programming languages, with emphasis on performance engineering of software systems, malicious software analysis, and experimental algorithmics.
