Cameron Shelley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo, holding a teaching-stream appointment. He previously held Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships with the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan’s Philosophy Department. His research focuses on the philosophy of design, social impacts of technology, explanatory reasoning, and cognitive irony. Shelley has taught courses on technology and society, biotechnology, and urban design, emphasizing interdisciplinary connections between engineering, ethics, and societal challenges.
