Cam Grey

Cam Grey is Professor of Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in environmental and social history of the late Roman world (3rd-7th centuries CE). Research examines disaster resilience, rural community dynamics, and human-environment interactions through interdisciplinary approaches combining archaeology, epigraphy, and textual analysis.

Teaching includes courses on Roman imperialism, citizenship, and ancient economies. Publications analyze risk perception in Campania post-Vesuvius, climate-agrarian change linkages, and spatial methodologies in Tuscan archaeology.
